Alex Balfour has been working in digital media since 1994. He started out as a print journalist but quickly took to digital work. He edited GE'97, the UK's first general election website, developed the first online government consultation and went on to be part of the team that produced the Guardian newspaper's websites. Alex Balfour is currently Head of New Media for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (London 2012). Amina Belghiti

Amina Belghiti is Facebook's Head of Platform Partnerships for New Markets. Her team is tasked with increasing the use and engagement of the Facebook Platform across CEEMEEA markets through the establishment of partnerships with media, commerce and gaming companies and innovative start-ups.

Prior to Facebook, Amina held senior roles at eBay and PayPal where she led PayPal's developer platform in Europe and previously worked in the strategy & business development team at the company's headquarters in San Jose, California. Benjy Meyer is a full time multichanneler. He started his career very much in physical stores, working for Tesco to build a location and format strategy to drive growth. Key to this is a need to gain accurate and actionable insight about customers. He took this career path internationally to Ireland, India and then the US with fresh & easy neighbourhood markets where he helped build a business from the ground up for 4 years. Returning to the UK, Benjy moved into an internal consulting team at Tesco and led a non-food strategy and review, with multichannel very much as the focus. Benjy now works for Marks & Spencer as Head of New Channels, where he is leading a wide variety of initiatives to develop new customer journeys and experiences. The works is focused on what he calls 'little webs': in store, mobile, tablet and more.

Benoist Grossman joined Idinvest Partners in 2002. He was appointed a board member in 2003 and operates mainly in the sectors of internet. Benoist is currently on the boards of Criteo, Viadeo, Dailymotion, 24h00 and Winamax.

Before joining Idinvest Partners, Benoist worked for several venture capital funds for over 10 years. He was a partner at Viventures from 1998 to 2002 and worked as Investment Manager at La Financière de Brienne. He had previously spent over 10 years working in the industry as a laser systems specialist at EDF, NASA and Thomson-CSF Optronique, for whom he invented five patents and authored over twenty publications.

Christian Herzog was born in 1956. After graduating from HEC School of Management, he began his career at Colgate-Palmolive before joining Air France in 1982 as Product Manager for Domestic Routes.

In 1986, he became Sales Manager for the Central France District, in Lyon, and then Sales and Marketing Manager for UK and Ireland, in London, from 1988 to 1990.

Back in France, he was appointed Principal Private Secretary to the Air France Chairman until 1993.

He then joined the International Division in the position of General Manager for the Benelux, based in Brussels (1993-1995).

In 1996, Christian Herzog was appointed Commercial Vice President for Europe (coordination of the 14 Regional General Managers in Europe and North Africa).

From 1998 to 2002, he held the position of Vice President for International Commercial Affairs and was in charge of International Sales, Keys Accounts, Distribution and Commercial Coordination with SkyTeam partners, and Commercial Projects on the internet (in 2001, Christian Herzog was the first Chairman of OPODO, the online travel agency launched by the major European airlines, including Air France).

Christian Herzog returned to London in 2002 as General Manager UK and Ireland.

In September 2003, he was appointed Senior Vice President for the Americas. He has been Senior Vice President Marketing, Air France KLM since September 2010.

Whitmore was most recently chief operating officer at HFM US Digital Media
(January - June 2011), where he oversaw digital strategy and execution for magazine brands including Car and Driver, Cycle World, ELLE, ELLE DECOR, Road & Track and Woman's Day. Previously he was chief operating officer at Jumpstart Automotive Group, an expert automotive marketing company that was acquired by Hearst in June 2011 as part of the Lagardère deal. In this role, Whitmore was responsible for the company's product strategy, working closely with the management team to ensure tight communication, coordination and teamwork. In 2008, he served as chief partnership officer/chief marketing officer at Jumpstart, a Hearst Media Services Company and expert automotive marketing organization.

With over 20 years of marketing and communications experience with big brand companies such as Disney, Procter & Gamble and Apple, Jaki Ellenby joined Cirque du Soleil in 2007, where she took on various functions related to the marketing of big top and arena shows as well as market strategy and intelligence. In 2012, she was promoted to the position of Vice-president of Strategy and Marketing Solutions to oversee strategic planning and market/consumer insights, brand management and development, consumer experience and relationships, digital assets and production in addition to consumer products and licensing.

In 2002, driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Jaki Ellenby founded and managed Born2be, a profitable marketing agency that developed fully-integrated « call-to-action » marketing programs designed to create a sustained and lucrative relationship between brand and consumer. Her portfolio of clients included prestigious companies such as Apple, Disney, Procter & Gamble, ELLE and Rémy Martin.

In 2006, she became Sales and Marketing Director at Parc Astérix, the second largest theme park in France, where she set out on a nine-month mission to rebuild the marketing and sales of the theme park and reposition 2 other theme parcs within the Compagnie des Alpes group..

Jaki Ellenby then moved to Montreal to become Sales and Marketing Vice-president at the Just for Laughs Festival – the world’s largest comedy festival – quickly achieving record-breaking sales through coordinated business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing, communications and sales campaigns.

Jamel joined Microsoft in 2005 as an industry hire, bringing with him; both his media and networking technical expertise as a Ph.D. in distributed Multimedia systems, and his business and entrepreneurial experience as a CEO and Founder of a pan-European media delivery and CDN Software startup.

Within Microsoft, Jamel has first led the product and partner ecosystems expansion for Microsoft’s media technologies across the EMEA region, first in the Windows Division, then as part of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB) division . For the past 5 years, Jamel has made deep and lasting contributions in the expansion of IEB’s Music and Entertainment Product, Services, and Strategy. As part of that, he proposed and drove the due diligence and acquisition of Musiwave (a European multimedia services startup) in 2007, played a leading role in the integration of the new team into Microsoft, and for the past two years turned this venture into a strong engineering powerhouse with large Microsoft-class contributions to IEB and to the company.

As the Partner GM of the Microsoft Engineering Center – Paris, Jamel is heading Xbox Music Engineering as it’s delivered in 35 countries on Windows 8, Xbox 360 and Windows Phone devices to potentially hundreds of millions of consumers

James Davlouros is a Business Leader working for the Strategic Alliances team. He is responsible for business development of mobile payments programs across Europe. He is based in London, UK.

Mr. Davlouros joined MasterCard in 2007 with over 10 years of banking and financial experience as well as over 10 years of Research and Development in Artificial Intelligence. During her career at General Mills, Katy has stewarded leading brands such as Nature Valley, Betty Crocker, Trix, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Pillsbury. Her teams have received multiple Eagle Awards for outstanding performance.
